About Essential Arts
I’d like to tell you a little about Essential Arts. I’ve been passionate about natural healing for almost as long as I can remember.
Essential Arts uses only the finest quality essential oils (natural oils typically obtained by distillation and having the characteristic scent of the plant or other source from which it is extracted). Mother Nature has a way of taking care of us when we use what she has to offer.
Aromatherapy is more than just breathing in the scents. Yes, that is one way and “A Boost For the Lungs Mist” is a good example for that. Using topical oils such as “Ache Away Blend” is another, Just apply it topically where you feel achy. Using just one drop on your temples can sooth a head ache.
With over thirty years of studing and using herbs and aromatheray, I don’t recommend taking essential oils internally. These are highly concentrationed volatile oils of plant matter. One drop of peppermint essential oil for example equals 23 cups of tea. Misusing essential oils
can be irritating and/or dangerous. This is why I use carriers in my products such as: grapeseed oil, distilled water or aloe vera.
When I was young I watched my parents die of cancer and I decided that I didn’t want to suffer the same early fate. While studying art at the Kansas City Art Institute, herbal remedies started to fascinate me. Like many college students, I was burning the candle at both ends. I was run down and got sick often, so I began visiting the local health food store. Next door was an herbal shop. Out of curiosity, I walked in and bought goldenseal for the cold that I had. I was instantly cured, and knew then what I wanted to do.
In 1980, I began studying the benefits of herbs and essential oils in earnest. I discovered that there were inexpensive, effective, natural remedies for almost everything. I studied Herbology at the New Mexico Herb Institute, and apprenticed with Lucy McCall. Through the years, I’ve attended seminars and workshops, learning all that I could about the art of Aromatherapy and the healing power of herbs.
For decades, I’ve helped myself, my daughter and numerous friends using herbs and essential oils, always with positive results. When I moved to the Ozark Mountains in 1997, I decided to share these formulas with the public, and Essential Arts was born.
This is a passion, and I have a mission. It brings me joy to help in healing others, to ease suffering and to relieve physical and mental pain. Essential Arts is not only my business, it’s my contribution to the world.
